Measuring Guide

Capable of being installed in several configurations, our range of roller shutters offer a practical, affordable and effective means of increasing security to a given space. Detailed below are the 2 most popular installation methods however other variations are possible. For more information on these please contact us.

Face Fixed

With this type of installation method, the guides fix at the sides of the opening and the shutter box sits above the lintel. This method of installing the roller shutter is ideal where there is the available headroom and sideroom as it provides the maximum opening width and height to be achieved.

Please remember that when fixing the door externally, the drawback is that the shutter will be very apparent and may alter the overall look of the building.

Face Fixed Applications

Measuring The Opening – Face Fixed

Width

1. Measure the structural opening width in mm. This will give you your starting measurement.

2. Make a note of this.

3. Add the width of the guides to the opening width (as detailed in each product page) and this will give you your overall width of shutter required.

Height

Measure the structural opening height in mm. This will give you your starting measurement.

2. Make a note of this.

3. Add the height of the shutter hood to the opening height (as detailed in each product page) and this will give you your overall height of shutter required.

Provided the space available is more than the overall width and height of the shutter then the installation will be easy.

Reveal Fixed

Where space is restricted or the building design dictates, this method of installation requires the guides to be fixed between the opening and the shutter hood sits in the opening beneath the lintel.

Although offering a discreet solution to providing additional security to the building, roller shutter that are reveal fitted are not suited to all applications. Examples of this include outward opening windows, door handles or objects fitted to windows etc.
