Designed for numerous commercial, residential and hospitality applications our range of continental roller door designs (such as insulated roller shutters, extruded aluminium window and doorway shutters and punched latch security grilles) are suitable for virtually any space that would benefit from improved security and protection.
Popular Installation Methods
Face Fixed (external or internal) – This method of fixing the shutter is by far the most popular as it allows the full width and height of the opening to be maintained. This is because the guides overlap the side of the opening and the shutter box sits above the opening (roughly covering the lintel).
Please be aware that when selecting this method of installation it is essential the required amount of space is available to house these components otherwise the product may not fit properly. This is because not all shutters of the same design have identical components as these vary depending on a number of factors including the height and width of opening and the size of lath required.
If space is tight or you would like to know the exact space required to fit your preferred design please contact us and we will provide accurate dimensions so you can double check this against site constraints.
Face Fixed Shutter Examples
Reveal Fixed (between the opeing) - Where space restricitons do not allow for a face fixed installation, continental shutters can be fitted in between the opening. When selecting this position please be aware that the drawback is a loss of opening height (as the roller box sits under the lintel) and a loss of opening width.
The image below details the normal configuration of our continental roller shutters. Whilst the size of the components used may vary according to design and manufacturer, the same basic appearance will be maintained.
